Problem with the Jabber server on FSFE
Hi guys
I just signed up to the FSFE, and I am having trouble configuring Gaim to access my jabber account.
My username is: shane@jabber.fsfe.org
Can anyone let me know what the server settings should be? Thank you so much!

Hi shane,
Create a new account in Gaim with the following options:
Protocol: Jabber
Screen Name: shane
Server: jabber.fsfe.org
Ressource: Gaim
Password: YourPassword
Show more options -> [x] Use TLS if available
and sign on.
To join the fsfe chat room go to
Buddies -> Join a chat
and select the fsfe jabber account
Room: fsfe
Server: conference.jabber.fsfe.org
Handle: shane
Password: YourPassword (can possibly be left blank)
And that's it!

I'm using Gaim on windows and even I am not able to connect even if the options are correctly configured.
My provider offers natted connection by default (Fastweb, italian provider); I have disabled my firewall: here is gaim log

numerone: it seems like a Windows problem to me. If from GNU/Linux it works then there must be something else going on. Can you try with a different Jabber client on Windows, maybe?
