ASUS Motherboard Ships With Embedded GNU/Linux

Asus built a motherboard that boots optionally a GNU/Linux system in 5 seconds. Generally, that's a nice feature, alas the system is not entirely "free" and can only be updated via Windows. See this test article and the discussion about it.

Lets see the code!

Let's wait for the Code. Hopefully all low-level stuff is "free" so that only Skype and AdobeFlash have to be removed/replaced...

Would be great to have full access to your harddrives from within that system.... you could mount all important stuff over nfs and have a great easy-to-set-up and fast-booting diskless client!
