Yesterday, when we talked about Digital Restriction Management (DRM), Werner pointed me to "The Right to Read", a really great article which was published in the February 1997 issue of Communications of the ACM (Volume 40, Number 2). It is really worth to be read or read again. (There a also translations of the article in other languages.)

Oh dear, how fast these ~10 years passed by - and I still rembered that article and my surprise that Richard wrote an article for the CACM.
