GNU Classpath everywhere

I bought this fine little Linux-based handheld and soon started poking around. A major breakthrough was reached as someone released a USB Gadget Serial kernel module which allowed me to log into the GP2X via minicom.

One of my friends at Freifunk gave me a hint to have a deeper look at OpenEmbedded and use it to conveniently build and package applications and libraries. Thanks to the work done by Rene Wagner I could quickly build a recent version of JamVM and GNU Classpath 0.19.

Here and here is the proof that all the pieces work together very nicely. Thanks to everyone who is involved in these projects!

On the first picture you can see a pile of paper under the GP2X which contain my development notes for the java.beans.XMLEncoder (and its helper classes and backend). This work, which occupied me for months and which was one the reasons to join GNU Classpath, is now finally in a usable state. In fact I have committed the patch already and it will be part of the upcomming 0.20 release. :-)
