DRM: Bush-Administration to menace European Authorities

Reuters reported recently that Thomas Barnett "a top U.S. antitrust
official Wednesday urged foreign governments to think twice
before interfering with popular new technologies. That would base on "overzealous regulation" which could "discourage innovation and hurt consumers". As an example he named Apple iTunes.
When being questioned whether he also wanted to address the European Commission because of the Microsoft antitrust suit he answered - according to Reuters - that he wanted to "discuss some of these
issues in a different context."
To me that sounds pretty much like "US businesses have the right to restrict their customers anywhere in the world". Hopefully the Bush administration does not allege that European consumer organisations and public authorities are terrorists that represent a danger to the USA.
